Hi! I’m Mychal Pinkard (she/her, pronounced Michael) and I’m here to help you celebrate and enhance your natural texture. Being a “curly girl” myself, I know how nerve-wracking it can be to establish with a new stylist. I love working with the entire curl spectrum (wavy-coily) and helping clients feel confident inside and out.
My background spans 20+ years in the industry as a stylist, educator, and salon owner. Having closed Wild At Heart, my former salon in 2021 after 10 years in Portland, I’m delighted to bring my skills, enthusiasm and energy to Victoria BC and beyond.
Licensed Cosmetologist (Hair/Skin) in California and Oregon and am forever grateful to the Master Stylists I Apprenticed under many moons ago.
I hold a BA in Liberal Arts from California State University, Channel Islands with a Minor in Art History.
I’m a mom of two high spirited kids and partnered with an exceptional human. We’re pretty much your stereotypical (loud) family from the US. We moved to Victoria to live in a smaller city by the sea.
